Opened a new current account, switched banks, or never added your bank details when you first registered? Bank account details on GST registration are a non-core field, but the validation step catches more businesses than you’d expect. Call or WhatsApp us on 70 9232 9232 and we’ll get it added or corrected properly.

Where to do it, and what you’ll need
Bank details are added or edited under Services → Registration → Amendment of Registration (Non-Core Fields) → Bank Accounts tab, either by adding a new account or editing an existing one. You’ll need the account number, account type, bank name, IFSC code, and branch name, then a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque, the first page of your bank passbook, or a recent bank statement as proof — and the account holder’s name has to match your PAN and GST registration name exactly, or the validation fails.
Why this isn’t optional to skip
GST Rule 10A requires every registered business to furnish valid bank account details within 30 days of registration, or before filing their first GSTR-1/IFF (whichever comes first) — miss this and the portal can restrict your ability to file returns until it’s fixed. A GSTIN with no bank account on file, or one where the account holder name doesn’t match, is a red flag that surfaces during reconciliation, refund processing, or a routine departmental check.
You can have up to 10 bank accounts linked to a single GSTIN, which matters for businesses running multiple current accounts across different banks for different purposes.
What we actually do
- Checking your account holder name matches your PAN/GST records before submission, so it doesn’t get rejected
- Preparing the right proof document (cancelled cheque, passbook, or statement) in the format the portal accepts
- Filing and tracking the change through to approval
- Direct access to your consultant — no call centre
