If your GSTIN isn’t working, it’s one of two things — suspended or cancelled — and the fix, deadline, and urgency are different for each. Call or WhatsApp us on 70 9232 9232 and we’ll tell you which one you’re dealing with in minutes, or check the status yourself using the guide below.

Which one am I dealing with?
Log into the GST portal and check the status shown against your GSTIN — it will say either “Suspended” or “Cancelled,” not both, and the word used there is exactly what decides which guide below applies to you.
My GSTIN shows “Suspended”
Usually temporary and often automatic — most non-filing suspensions from after 1 December 2022 can be restored in about 15 minutes once pending returns are filed.
My GSTIN shows “Cancelled”
Final unless reversed — an officer-cancelled GSTIN can be revoked within 30 days (extendable to 180), but only if you didn’t cancel it yourself voluntarily.
Not sure, or the portal isn’t clear?
